In early 2021, Mayor Jerry Larsen asked our East Hampton Village Foundation founding Executive Director Bradford E. Billet to create a not for profit for the benefit of the residents, visitors and our local government of East Hampton Village. The Mayor proposed the formation at the Village board meeting and the Mayor and the Village trustees unanimously approved it. Mr. Billet worked tirelessly to make the idea into a reality. The foundation was formed in 2021 for the noble purpose of helping our great village and our community. We believe in community engagement and supporting our local government which is embodied in our mission statement and public purpose. Mr. Bradford E. Billet, OBE is the Chairman and CEO of the Foundation.
Our mission is public community engagement, funding programs in support of any public safety, public event, environmental or public works of Village properties, including open space and historical structures in East Hampton Village. In addition, we support East Hampton’s municipal government, and their special projects for the benefit of the public and the public good. Our organization is a current and valid 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in accordance with the standards and regulations of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). We received our approval in June of 2021.
Herrick Park provides our children and families to connect with nature and the outdoors. The park is at the center of our village, serves as the playground for the EH Middle School, and the cultural hub for the Town of East Hampton. With Phase IA completed this past May, the new basketball courts were just approved in August and construction will break ground in Fall.
A central sewer system in the downtown will protect our water quality (Hook Pond) and public health. This major construction project of underground pipes and pumping stations, convey sewage from homes and businesses to wastewater treatment plants where it is cleaned and returned to the environment. In order to have more restaurants in our village, we must complete this project.
You’re All Invited to Attend the Upcoming East Hampton Village Events!
The May Day 5K was the brainchild of high-school students (and runners) Dylan Cashin and Ryleigh O’Donnell. The charitable run is organized by East Hampton Village Mayor Jerry Larsen, Village Administrator Marcos Baladron, Jennifer Fowkes of OMAC (Old Montauk Athletic Club), and Bradford Billet of the East Hampton Village Foundation. Founded in 2021, the run had over 600 participants and raised over $18,000 for the Family Service League of Long Island.
