Mark Udell's Bio

Mark Udell, Chief Executive Officer of London Jewelers, began his formal career at London Jewelers in 1973. Mark Udell is the son of Mayer and Fran and grandson of Charles London who founded the family enterprise in 1926. From a young age, Mark had an affinity for the jewelry business. His passion grew as he spent a great deal of time at the store learning everything he could about jewelry and watches.


After graduating from the University of Miami, and working for Mayor’s, a high-end jewelry store in Florida, Mark returned to Glen Cove to work for the family business in 1973. He married his college sweetheart, Candy who immediately joined the business with bright aspirations for the future of London Jewelers.


Mark has expanded the family business from its original store in Glen Cove in 1926, to locations now in Manhasset, Wheatley Plaza, East Hampton, Southampton, New York City, and New Jersey, along with the new corporate offices located in Glen Head. He also cherishes his partnerships with some of the finest luxury jewelry and watch brands in the world, including, Rolex, Patek Philippe, Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, Audemars Piquet,Bulgari and David Yurman and many more.


Through the years Mark has been the recipient of numerous awards. Mark was inducted to the National Jeweler Magazine Retailer Hall of Fame; Retailer of the Year by the American Jewish Committee and Jeweler of the Year by the New York State Jewelers Association. Mark also sits on the Jewelry Security Alliance and Nassau County Crime Stoppers. Mark was a recipient of the prestigious AGS Triple Zero Award.


With all the success and efforts, Mark always gives credit to Fran and Mayer for teaching him that family is always first, and customers are extended members of the London Jewelers family. This philosophy has resulted in the successful third generation management by Mark who is actively grooming his children Randi and Scott and nephew Zachary to become the fourth generation leaders. In keeping with his philosophy of giving back to the community, Mark is also actively involved in raising funds for numerous area hospitals, health organizations, children’s research and development associations, arts and museum councils and religious organizations. London Jewelers as a company prides itself in supporting of over 100 local community charities a year.
