About East Hampton Village Foundation

In early 2021, Mayor Jerry Larsen asked our East Hampton Village Foundation founding Executive Director Bradford E. Billet to create a not for profit for the benefit of the residents, visitors and our local government of East Hampton Village. The Mayor proposed the formation at the Village board meeting and the Mayor and the Village trustees unanimously approved it. Mr. Billet worked tirelessly to make the idea into a reality. The foundation was formed in 2021 for the noble purpose of helping our great village and our community. We believe in community engagement and supporting our local government which is embodied in our mission statement and public purpose. Mr. Bradford E. Billet, OBE is the Chairman and CEO of the Foundation.

East Hampton Village is a very special place. The Mayor, Village Trustees, our Chairman, CEO and Foundation directors want to ensure it remains so for a very long time. Here are just a few of the projects we managed and funded, thanks to the generous support of our Donors: The first was the Centennial celebration of our village. The Village and Foundation had tremendous community engagement. We sponsored educational forums, a gala, a parade, a children’s fair, a music festival, a community softball game, and the Centennial car show. We were so thrilled when thousands visited Herrick Park and our village shops, increasing opportunities for local business. Our community really came out to celebrate. We continued to do more – including a Halloween festival in which thousands of kids and their families participated under the protection of our local hero's – Police, Fire and EMS.

The Foundation and the Village continue to focus on renovating Herrick Park while still engaging with the community for the public good. The overall Park renovation budget is approximately 10 million dollars. Phase one has already begun, with engineering plans in process and a proposed construction start date in the fall of 2022. We will need 2-3 million to complete Phase one.

The Foundation continues to assist the Village in financial contributions. We have paid for new wireless police security cameras throughout the downtown and beach area, purchased an all terrain vehicle for the Police department, provided funds for the Engineering and schematic plans for the Herrick Park renovation. The foundation has worked tirelessly and raised over 1.7 million in only the first 6 months of operation and has continues to do more. All of our operations benefits the public good. I hope you will join our efforts to improve and preserve this special place we have come to know as East Hampton Village.
